Big Bass Drop

Big Bass Drop is one of those games I meant to try for five minutes and ended up playing on the train the whole way home. You tap to cast, hold to set your depth, and release to reel in — that's basically it, but the timing window keeps it interesting. The fish patterns change as you go deeper, and learning to read the water becomes a small satisfying skill.

What surprised me is how gentle it is on the phone. It barely warmed up my case during a long session and the battery drain was low, which makes it a great pick for a commute. The art is bright and cartoony, the sound effects are punchy, and each catch gives you a quick little rush without dragging things out.

Controls are the star here. Everything is one-thumb friendly, so you can play standing on a bus with a coffee in your other hand. If I had one complaint, the later stages lean a bit hard on repetition, but by then you're already hooked on chasing a bigger catch.
