Iron Tide Command

Iron Tide Command scratches the slow-thinking strategy itch really well on a touchscreen. You manage fleets, protect supply lines, and make calls about when to push and when to hold. Matches can be played in short bursts or long planning sessions depending on your mood.

The interface took me a session to learn — there's a lot of information — but once it clicks, pinching and dragging around the map feels smooth. It does run the battery down during long campaigns, and the phone gets a little warm.

It's not a game you'll master in an afternoon, and that's the point. If you like reading a situation and outmaneuvering an opponent, this one rewards patience.
